Privacy notice
Updated 26.8.2026
This page explains what data Mitä tänään? collects, why, and how you can control it. Written to be read, not to be filed.
Visitor counts
We use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies. It separates individual visits using a short-lived pseudonymous identifier. It gives us no name, no email address and no browsing history.
Advertising
The site carries a Google Ads measurement tag for an advertising campaign. It tells the advertiser how many people who saw an ad came to the site. Without your consent it sets no cookies and does not measure your visit. To be straight with you: the script is loaded from Google on every page view, so Google sees your IP address from that request regardless of your choice. You can withdraw consent at any time below.
Stored in your browser
Favourites, language choice and view settings are stored in your own browser and do not reach the server. One exception: if you enable notifications, the three categories you have clicked most are sent along with the notification subscription so that notifications match your interests.
Notifications
If you enable notifications from the bell icon, we store your device's notification address and its encryption keys so that a notification can reach that device. Your most-clicked categories are stored alongside it. When you turn notifications off from the same icon, this data is deleted.
If you subscribe to the newsletter we store your email address in order to send it. Every message has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops the sending immediately, and the address stays marked as unsubscribed so that we do not mail you again by accident. If you want the address removed entirely, ask using the form below.
Forms
If you submit an event or a venue, we send the name, email address and event details you gave to the site operator's email so the submission can be handled and you can be answered. The address is not added to the newsletter.
Who the data reaches
We use services that process data on our behalf: Vercel (hosting and visitor counting), Supabase (newsletter addresses and notification subscriptions), Brevo and Resend (sending email), and Google (advertising measurement, only with consent). Data is not sold and is not used for anything beyond what is described on this page.
Event data
Events, venues and images come from public sources such as the Helsinki LinkedEvents API and OpenStreetMap. The sources are listed on the Sources page.
